DESIS Philosophy Talks Assemblies: a new format in the making

DESIS Philosophy Talks Assemblies is a new, light, situated format of talks developed in collaboration with Pantopicon, Politecnico di Milano and UHasselt organised in the public space, engaging different social agents. Design scholars and practitioners, but also engaged citizens, civil servants, local associations and policy makers working on urban (re)generation projects are invited to reflect on how key philosophical concepts are employed and experienced in their daily design practices aimed at social innovation, how they shape these practices, and how the latter can help to potentially re-frame those same concepts, thereby enriching the philosophical discourse of the discussions/actions crafted by the design discourse. The first prototype of this new format is under trial at Z33 (Hasselt, Belgium), within the framework of The Politics of Design part II (17-18-19 september, 2019).
